Letter from the President

Hello! My name is Callie Backherms, and I am honored to serve as Chapter President for Chi Lambda’s Chapter. Alpha Omicron Pi has felt like home since day one to me. The bonds I have with my sisters are not going to end in college but will last a lifetime. These girls are my home away from home and are the best support system I could ever ask for. Here in Alpha Omicron Pi, we hold four values close to us. These values are character, dignity, scholarship, and college loyalty. Each sister strives to uphold these values in her everyday life. I see in character in the sister that takes time out of her day to help another sister with a class. I see dignity in the sister that treats others the way she would want to be treated. I see scholarship in the sister that holds herself to a high standard academically. I see college loyalty in the sister that attends various philanthropy events on campus. These four values do not just apply to one sister specifically, but rather all of us as a whole. As Chapter President, my goal is to make every sister feel supported and at home here in Alpha Omicron Pi. College is crazy enough as it is, so making sure each sister feels welcomed with open arms is very important to me. Every sister is unique in her own way and brings something different to the chapter. I want each member to be able to be themselves while growing into the person they are meant to be. I hope each sister will look back on their time as an active member after they graduate with feelings of gratefulness and love. It is an honor to lead this chapter and I will be forever thankful for the many opportunities this chapter has provided me with. I am proud to call myself a member of Alpha Omicron Pi.
